Dr. LeRoy Carson and Dr. Derek Carson each have an IV sedation license which immediately sets them apart from other dentists. Sedation is an extremely pleasant way for an adult to receive dental treatment that a patient would not normally have done due to fear. IV sedation is often referred to as, “sleep sedation.” At the end of your dental treatment you are awakened from your arousable sleep with total amnesia (no memory) of the procedure, the emotional stress, and the visit itself. All dental procedures can be done under sedation, especially surgical procedures such as surgical implant placement and surgical extraction of wisdom teeth. Many times all the dentistry can be performed in one visit. Pediatric dentistry (Children) is normally performed under amnesic sedation. The reason the children are sedated is to perform the dental work in one visit, as well as not traumatizing the children. We allow the parents to be present during the dental visit on small children. Most parents prefer to be present in the operatory and a few do not. We encourage them to be by their child’s side. Dr. Carson’s primary goal is to make sure that your child’s safety comes first. At the end of the dental treatment, your child will only remember going to the office, but not the visit, nor the return trip home due to the Amnesic Sedation. 
Our cutting-edge dental practice in Oxnard is equipped with state of the art digital computer technology for taking ct scans. We obtain our X-ray imaging with digital sensors and can digitally capture photographic images.
